L’1 maggio si è aperta l’Expo 2015 a Milano. È durata fino al 31 ottobre e l’hanno visitata oltre 20 milioni di persone, con circa 5000 eventi organizzati e più di 140 paesi e organizzazioni coinvolte.
On 1st May Expo 2015 opened in Milan. It lasted until 31st October and was visited by over 20 million people, with about 5000 events organised and more than 140 countries and organizations involved.
SPAZIO – SPACE
L’11 giugno è tornata sulla terra l’astronauta italiana Samantha Cristoforetti dopo 200 giorni nello spazio. È la prima donna al mondo ad aver trascorso più giorni in orbita con la missione più lunga, superando il precedente record dell’americana Sunita Williams di 195 giorni.
On 11th June the Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti came back to earth after 200 days in space. She is the first woman in the world who stayed in orbit with the longest single mission, overtaking Sunita Williams’ previous record of 195 days of spaceflight for women.

RESTAURO – RESTORATION
La fontana di Trevi è stata riaperta a Roma il 3 novembre dopo 17 mesi di restauro. Durante la cerimonia, sono state tolte le impalcature ed è stata accesa la nuova illuminazione, infine la fontana è stata riempita d’acqua.
After 17 months of restoration works the Trevi Fountain was opened again on 3rd November in Rome. During the ceremony, all the scaffoldings were removed and the new lighting was turned on, then the fountain was filled up with water.
PORTA – DOOR
L’8 dicembre è iniziato ufficialmente il Giubileo straordinario dedicato alla Misericordia: a Città del Vaticano, Papa Francesco ha aperto la Porta Santa della Basilica di San Pietro.
On 8th December the extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy officially began: at Vatican City, Pope Francis solemnly opened the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica.
