La primavera è arrivata il 20 marzo: l’equinozio di primavera non sarà più il 21 marzo fino al 2102!
Anche se molti dicono che non ci sono più le mezze stagioni, in Italia abbiamo la fortuna di avere un clima invidiabile!
Spring has arrived on 20th March: the vernal equinox won’t happen on 21st March until the year 2102!
Although many people say there are no more middle seasons, in Italy we are lucky we have an enviable weather!
In primavera cominciano le giornate più calde: il cielo è sereno e c’è il sole, negli alberi ricrescono le foglie verdi e i fiori germogliano. È il momento ideale per fare delle gite al parco!
In spring warmer days begin: the sky is clear and it is sunny, trees grow green leaves and they are in blossom. It is the perfect time to go to the park!
Il 20 giugno comincerà ufficialmente l’estate: in Italia ci piace tanto andare al mare, nuotare e prendere il sole. I bambini si divertono a costruire i castelli di sabbia sulla spiaggia. Quando c’è un caldo molto umido, soprattutto a luglio e agosto, diciamo “che afa!”. La maggior parte delle giornate sono soleggiate, ma in alcuni giorni ci sono dei brevi temporali estivi. A volte nel sud Italia, tira un vento molto caldo e secco che viene dall’Africa: il vento di scirocco.
On 21th June summer officially starts: in Italy we like going to the sea, swimming and sunbathing. Kids have fun building sand castles on the beach. When it is very hot and moist, especially in July and in August, we use the expression “che afa!” to mean “what sticky weather”. Most of the days are sunny, but some may also be stormy. Sometimes in the South of Italy, a hot dry wind blows from Africa: this is the Sirocco wind.
Il 23 settembre comincerà anche l’autunno: è la stagione in cui le foglie cadono dagli alberi e il cielo può essere nuvoloso. Spesso piove e le strade sono coperte con un tappeto di foglie gialle e rosse. Il paesaggio è un po’ malinconico ma ci piace immaginare che ispirerà tanti poeti!
On 22nd September Autumn begins: in this season leaves fall from the trees and the sky may be cloudy. It often rains and the streets are covered with yellow and red leaves. The landscape is maybe gloomy but we like to imagine it would inspire many poets!
L’inverno arriverà puntualmente il 21 dicembre: in questa stagione di solito fa molto freddo e nei mesi di dicembre e gennaio può anche nevicare. Anche l’inverno è una stagione molto piovosa. Se le temperature sono basse, può grandinare e in alcune zone a volte c’è la nebbia. Quando nevica tanto, le scuole sono chiuse e i bambini vanno a giocare fuori e fanno i pupazzi di neve. Soprattutto in inverno, un vento molto forte a volte colpisce le regioni dell’Italia a nord-est: si chiama bora .
Winter comes on 21st December as usual: in this season it is mostly very cold and during December and February it may also snow. Winter is a very rainy season too. If the temperature is low, it may hail and in certain places it is foggy sometimes. When it snows a lot, schools are closed and children go out to play and make snowmen. Especially in Winter, a very hard wind sometimes blows across the northeast regions of Italy: this is called Bora.
